About us

STAR ENERGY SA, headquartered in Genève, Switzerland, is part of private innovative companies international network which leads the development of various scientific and industrial projects, including specialized solutions in nuclear energy, production of advanced materials, isotopes Zirconium-96, Ytterbium-176, Boron-10 and others for nuclear medicine, nuclear energy, fundamental science, R&D.

The most important direction of STAR ENERGY SA is the coordination of development and marketing of Small Modular Reactors (SMR) with the capacity of 30-40 MW (thermal) and 10 MW (electric) intended for supplying electric and thermal power to households and industrial consumers.

STAR ENERGY SA was founded in 2017 as a holding company for intellectual property management for the implementation of the SMR STAR project. The partners and the team of our network of innovative companies have rich long-term experience in the nuclear industry in the design and construction of nuclear reactors, engineering and radiation safety.

STAR Energy SA is research and development company focused on new technologies for the energy industry:

1

Design and Production of Small Modular Reactors (SMR)

2

Production of electricity, thermal energy and desalination

3

Natural and technical science

The company offers the unique solution for the dramatically growing sector of SMR: micro-nuclear power plants with capacity of up to 40 MW (thermal) or/and 10 MW (electric).

Our patented design of

SMR "STAR" - Safe Tiny Atomic Reactor

(patents obtained in the EU, USA, Canada, China, Japan, India, South Korea, Indonesia, Russia, etc.)

is the most promising tool for meeting the demand for electric, thermal energy and desalination anywhere on the globe.

Key features:

STAR is extremely small and lightweight (2.3 m diameter, 7.6 m height, up to 20 tons) and can be delivered by helicopter to any part of the world, thereby presenting unique solution for the market.

Thermal power of 1 module – from 30 to 40 MW

Electric power of 1 module – 10 MW

Levelized cost of energy (LCOE) – not exceeding USD 0.03 per kWh

STAR can be used independently or turned into a high-power nuclear plant consisting of numerous modules (up to 1000 MW or more) - easy joining of several modules.

Lifetime - 60 years

Refueling - once per 10 years

Reliability of STAR is ensured by fully passive safety systems which conform to all the latest IAEA nuclear safety standards.

As a result STAR is the safest and the most compact nuclear reactor design in the world, which ensures its huge competitive potential.

The combination of the features makes STAR truly unique design on the market.

Economic benefits of STAR

The payback period of investment in STAR mass production ranges from

5 years

depending on modifications (thermal, electric, desalination, combined) and location.

According to the study conducted by the UK Government-owned National Nuclear Laboratory, the total installed capacity of SMR in the world will grow to approximately 81 GW by 2035 with a further upward trend.

Therefore, the capitalization of STAR ENERGY will exceed

$30 billion

over the next 8 years.

Modular design of STAR allows the power plant to increase its capacity gradually by adding new modules. This allows the developer to save capital investment in time by closely matching the energy demand in the region of operation.

The UJV Rez Pre-Reasibility Study was developed and states that the STAR has following characteristics:- Safety- Constructibility- Manufacturable- Operability- Licensing.
